The Borneo Orangutan Adventure (BOA) is an opportunity of a lifetime, where you will spend two weeks in the most enchanting and beautiful surroundings, some of which are far from the tourist trail.
You will meet the locals and learn about their environment and communities, and at the same time make a positive contribution to the diminishing rainforest and the critically endangered apes – the orangutans – who live there.
You will stay in a variety of accommodation – from the 5* Shangri-la Rasa Ria, to lodges and home stays, and you will be accompanied by an experienced local guide.
Whilst in Sabah you will be undertaking a personal challenge, whether it is completing the mountain biking, traversing the canopy walkways, coping with the heat or trekking through the dense virgin rainforest and meeting some of its small inhabitants.
You will be travelling in a team (not more than 12) of like-minded people. During your trip you will be passing through “orangutan country”, spotting nests, lone individuals and maybe mothers with their babies. The Adventure culminates at the world acclaimed rehabilitation centre – Sepilok, where you will see rehabilitated orangutans living free in the protected reserve and visit their feeding platform.
Whether you are 25yrs old or 65yrs old this is the adventure for you, as during the whole trip you can chose how much of the activities you take part in.
The Adventure costs £2,695.00 and includes, flights, all accommodation, transfers, guides, boats, (bikes if required) and most of your meals. If you prefer, you can choose to pay for your trip by Fund Raising.
