Get Active for Apes on International Orangutan Day! The 19th August

Medal

On the 19th August, International Orangutan Day recognises the plight of the orangutan and brings people together to raise awareness and take action. With deforestation, the illegal pet trade and agriculture severely impacting orangutan populations, it is more important than ever that we do everything in our power to save them from extinction.

Join us and 'Get Active for Apes' on International Orangutan Day. Set your own personal challenge, sign up to our JustGiving campaign and start raising sponsorship. Then take part from anywhere in the world between 19th -25th August.

Everyone is welcome no matter what your ability - simply walk, jog, run, cycle or even dance to raise vital funds for our orange friends. Join a local Parkrun or sponsor the kids to take the dog out. Or why not get your colleagues involved and see who can rack up the most steps in a week?

There is a £50 fundraising goal but every penny helps if this can't be reached. Afterwards you can even upload details of your personal challenge to claim an exclusive orangutan medal! (pictured above).

To join our 'Get Active for Apes' team or express an interest please follow the join our team link and we will send you a 'Get active for Apes' Welcome Pack with more information on how to take part.

All funds raised are essential in helping our work in Borneo to continue. Just raising £50 can feed an orphaned baby orangutan for over a month! Without their mothers these babies would not have survived on their own and your help can ensure they get a second chance at life. Definitely something worth getting active for!

Watch Bidu Bidu's story as he grows from a tiny scared baby to a confident, healthy and happy orangutan who is now living wild in the forest! Join us and Get Active this August so we can continue to help orangutans like Bidu Bidu.
