METRO: Watch TV presenter get hit around the head by cute baby orangutan

TV presenters are often warned about the dangers with working with children and animals.

And this clip shows why, as Nicholas Daines takes a hefty whack from Peanut, a baby orangutan.

The footage was shot in Borneo, where Peanut is being looked after by a sanctuary for tiny orphans.

And the good news for people who fall in love with the tiny animal – and let’s be honest, it’s hard not to – is that the charity caring for him has put him up for adoption.

Nicholas is an ambassador for Orangutan Appeal UK, and has been visiting the Sepilok Rehabilitation Centre, where orphaned babies are looked after and prepared for life in the wild.

After climbing in the trees with the youngsters, he said: ‘What a naughty lot, I think I belong with them.’
