The Artist Ape Art Competition

Artistic Ape Logo

One of the few positives from the last year is that many people have found time to be more creative. Maybe that’s you, or maybe you’d like that to be you. Or perhaps you have always had a pencil or paintbrush to hand.

With that in mind, we are running an orangutan-themed

There are two categories:
The Adult category for anyone aged 12yrs and over.

The Child category for anyone aged 11yrs and under.

The WINNERS from each category will receive a one-year ADOPTION of one of our BABY ORANGUTANS!

Their artwork will also be published in our newsletter, and posted on our website and social media, so that everyone who loves orangutans can fall in love with your artwork too!

So whatever your experience, why not flex your artistic muscles whilst helping this critically-endangered species? Create to conserve!

The cost of entry is £5, with all monies raised going towards funding our local staff at the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre in Borneo, who have been diligently caring for the orangutans under incredibly hard circumstances, while Sabah has been in lockdown.

  1. You can use any medium (painting, drawing, sculpture etc), but no photography or videography.
  2. The artwork must feature, or be inspired by, orangutans.
  3. Individuals may enter as many pieces of artwork as they like. The fee for each entry is a £5 minimum donation.
  4. Entrants under 18 must get consent from their parent(s) or legal guardian(s) before entering. The parent(s) or legal guardian(s) must supply their name and contact details.
  5. Entries must be original and unaided. They must not infringe the rights of third parties including copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, personal or proprietary rights.
  6. By entering this prize competition, the entrants give us, Orangutan Appeal UK, the right to print and publish images of their artwork in our newsletter, on our website and social media, and in any other promotional material for our charity.
  7. By entering you agree to our Privacy Policy. The winning artists will have their names and country published alongside images of their artwork, unless they request otherwise.
  8. We reserve the right to cancel the competition at any time, if deemed necessary or if circumstances arise outside of the charity's control.
