About Archie
Archie has been at Sepilok since 2014 when he was a new born. He's known for his gentle and patient nature and is good with the younger orangutans.
Archie faced tragedy when he fell sick as a baby, leading to him having to be separated from his mother, a heart breaking decision but one that saved his life. Through dedicated care and his resilience, he overcame these early challenges and has blossomed into a vibrant and happy orangutan. Despite some ongoing health issues, Archie has been able to overcome adversity and is thriving in the Sepilok-Kabili reserve.
How adoptions help
Symbolic adoptions are an engaging way to contribute towards conserving the critically endangered Bornean orangutan by following the progress of a rescued individual at Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre.
Your contribution will go towards supporting various projects and initiatives which are all aimed at protecting and preserving these animals and their habitats in Borneo. This approach means that all the orangutans at Sepilok receive support and allows us to allocate resources where they are needed most, including rescue efforts, habitat restoration and our education and outreach programme.
You’ll receive a progress report about your adopted orangutan after six months.
