We may send you updates about our work, fundraising, orangutan adoptions, campaigns, events, products or other ways to support Orangutan Appeal UK.

If you adopt an orangutan, we may send adoption updates by email or post, depending on the contact details you have provided and the format you have requested. Adoption updates are usually sent around 6 months after the adoption begins.
You can stop receiving marketing communications at any time by using the unsubscribe link in our emails or by contacting us at info@orangutan-appeal.org.uk.
We may still contact you for non-marketing reasons, such as to process a donation, manage an adoption, send an order, respond to an enquiry, deal with a complaint or meet a legal obligation.
Orangutan adoptions
If you adopt an orangutan, we will use your personal information to process the adoption, send your adoption pack, provide adoption updates and contact you about renewal.
Adoption updates may be sent by email or post, depending on the format you have requested. Updates are usually sent around 6 months after the adoption begins.
If you buy an adoption as a gift, we may process the recipient’s name and delivery details so that we can fulfil the adoption. Please only provide another person’s details where you have their permission or where it is reasonable for you to do so.
Donations and Gift Aid
If you make a donation, we will process your personal information to administer the donation, keep appropriate financial records and communicate with you about the donation where necessary.
If you complete a Gift Aid declaration, we will process the information required to claim Gift Aid from HMRC and meet our legal and tax obligations.
Shop orders
If you place an order through our shop, we will use your personal information to process payment, fulfil the order, arrange delivery, deal with any queries and keep appropriate transaction records.
Fundraising

Orangutan adoptions

Shop orders
We use your name, contact details, delivery address, order details and payment reference to process payment, fulfil your order, arrange delivery and deal with any order-related queries.

- enquiry records are kept for as long as needed to respond to the enquiry and maintain appropriate records

- website analytics and cookie information are kept in accordance with our cookie settings and the retention periods of the relevant tools

If you do not provide personal information
