About Adie
Adie is a determined and brave little orangutan - small in size but big in personality! With her curious nature, every day brings something new to discover.
Born in the rainforest to a rehabilitated orangutan, Adie was only a few weeks old when her mother became seriously ill, which made looking after her baby impossible. Far too young to live without her, her only hope was to receive 24 hour care from the team at Sepilok.
She has come a long way since then, with plenty of encouragement from her carers and older orangutan companions. With their support, Adie is developing the skills she needs for an independent future in the wild.
How adoptions help
Symbolic adoptions are an engaging way to contribute towards conserving the critically endangered Bornean orangutan by following the progress of a rescued individual at Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre.
Your contribution will go towards supporting various projects and initiatives which are all aimed at protecting and preserving these animals and their habitats in Borneo. This approach means that all the orangutans at Sepilok receive support and allows us to allocate resources where they are needed most, including rescue efforts, habitat restoration and our education and outreach programme.
You’ll receive a progress report about your adopted orangutan after six months.
