Orangutan Superheroes Don't Wear Capes

Orangutan Caring Week is a worldwide event to raise awareness of the plight of the orangutan and to create positive change through activities and initiatives.
Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre will be hosting a programme of events aimed to increase community awareness and instil a willingness to protect orangutans.

The theme of this year's event is Orangutan Superheroes Don't Wear Capes.

Our team of superheroes dedicated to caring for the orangutans at Sepilok.

Activities during the week

Making hammocks for the orangutans with visitors, local students and junior volunteer wildlife rangers.

Junior volunteer wildlife rangers gathered around old fire hoses and bending them in a weave pattern to create hammocks for the orangutans.

Guess the name of the orangutan competition

Visitors to the centre were given the chance to guess some of the names of the orangutans often spotted at Sepilok.
